Josephine graduated with honors from SUNY at Buffalo and began her career as an OT in 1996. In 2000, she obtained a Post-professional Masters in OT and in 2001, obtained the Certification in Hand Therapy. Josephine enjoyed sharing her ideas, skills and knowledge as guest lecturer at the Florida Hand Therapy Society, Adjunct professorship at Long Island University, speaking opportunities at ASHT and the NYU Tisch Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Josephine has a strong clinical background in upper extremity rehabilitation and has treated a variety of diagnoses and clinical syndromes. She worked as a clinical supervisor at Bellevue Hospital Center (Level l Trauma Center) for many years. Responsibilities included supervision and clinical training for staff therapists, program development, and consultation of therapeutic services for surgeons. Patient specific treatment planning and Hands on implementation of treatments are the focus of services rendered by Josephine. Patient satisfaction and patient improvement are measuring factors for ultimate service improvement. Patient participation is a must in the therapeutic process and feedback are always welcomed.
Winnie Tsui specializes in therapy of the hand wirst, elbow and shoulder of adults and children. Winnie had been the Clinical Specialist of the Hand Therapy Department at NYU RUSK Institute of Rehabilitation Adjunct Proffesor of Long Island University Medtronics, Allergan and a medical exprert for the New York Times. She has been a Certified Hand Therapist since 2001, a member of the American Society of Hand Therpists, New York State Occupational Therapy Association and has extensive experience in rehabilitation, community health, pediatrics private practive and research, Winnie is excited to be a part of the Focus Occupational Therapy practice.
Xin Rou (Lucy) Chu is an Occupational Therapist and obtained her Master of Science degree from Columbia University. She has experience in physical disability settings primarily in acute rehabilitation working with patients with neurological issues including, but not limited to, CVA and TBI while at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. Additionally, she has prior experience with the mental health population while working at Mount Sinai Continuing Day Treatment program, leading therapeutic groups daily. Currently, her primary interest is in orthopedics of the upper extremity. Her goal is to become a Certified Hand Therapist in the near future. She is excited and enjoys her position as a staff therapist at Focus Occupational Therapy.
Susanna Li graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Cornell University and pursued her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at Tufts University. She has clinical experience treating patients in outpatient rehabilitation at NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens Hospital, where she worked with patients with a range of orthopaedic or neurological impairments. She also has experience working in a community-based mental health setting at Barrier Free Living, a non-profit program serving homeless populations and survivors of domestic violence. She is excited to be a part of the growing practice as a staff therapist at Focus Occupational Therapy.
Jee Yoon Chong
Jee Yoon Chong, OTR/CHT graduated from the SUNY-Stony Brook University Occupational Therapy Program in 2009. She began working at Bellevue Medical Center in NYC and began her career in the treatment of hand and upper extremity injuries. Jee Yoon obtained her Certification in Hand Therapy in May, 2015. She has many hours of continuing education related to hand therapy and has been treating patients with orthopedic and neurological injuries since 2010. Jee Yoon is also a certified kinesiotape practitioner since 2011, and holds a certification in physical agent modalities (PAM). Jee Yoon is fluent in both: English and Korean, and values patient education through communication and demonstration for optimal rehabilitation process.
John Liu has been an OT for the past 13 years. He obtained a clinical doctorate degree from George Washington University. He has worked in a variety of setting from pediatrics to genetrics. He is excited to join the team and contribute to better patient outcomes.
